How retainers actually work
Retainer scope is audit, spec, content, and off-site work. Deployment is a separate, scoped project.
Our retainers cover audit, specification, content production, and off-site citation work. Deployment of changes to your site (schema markup, llms.txt files, page rewrites, owned knowledge graph buildout) is a scoped one-time project, priced separately and quoted firm in the SOW.
This split is more honest than the alternative. Most $2,000-per-month retainers in this market promise “implementation” but cannot deliver it inside the monthly fee. We separate retainer scope from deployment scope so what we promise monthly is what we actually ship monthly.

If your engineering team can deploy changes themselves, you skip all deployment add-ons. We provide the spec. They ship the change. Most of our Foundation clients deploy the technical foundation themselves and use the retainer for content production and off-site citation work.
The Blueprint fee credit
Start with the $500 Blueprint. Sign within 30 days. The $500 comes off month one.
The credit window is firm. After 30 days from the readout call, the credit expires. This is intentional: it removes the psychological "I paid twice" friction and creates a natural decision deadline.

Annual prepay, what’s not included, and cancellation
Citation Engine clients can prepay 12 months for a 10% discount. Foundation and Momentum are month-to-month after the minimum term, with no annual prepay discount available.

Foundation requires a 3-month minimum. Momentum and Citation Engine require a 6-month minimum. After the minimum, we are month-to-month with 30 days written notice. We do not lock clients in beyond the stated minimum.
